| X-Men 3 As someone who read X-men consistenly from 1982 to 1993 I am VERY satisfied with the final installment. It remained true to the spirit of the comics that I enjoyed so much. Some of the dialogue was a little clunky in the beginning and it tried to cover a whole lot of ground in a short time, but other than that I enjoyed it completely. Beast was brilliant. The use of powers in the action scenes were very clever. All of the changes made sense in the movie context because some things that happened in the comics wouldn't have translated well. GO KITTY! |

| Re: X-Men 3 I notice that the critics have given this one a bit of a slating. The dialogue came in for particular criticism (which kind of ties in with your own assesment). Still, I enjoyed the first two so I'll be giving this one a view and making up my own mind. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised ![]() |

| Re: X-Men 3 I don't know. It didn't overly impress me. I'm not really a fan of the comics, but I loved the first two films. This installment didn't really live up to the standard set by those two. It had some interesting ideas, and some good sequences, but as a whole was just another film. It didn't connect, for mine. I think there was so much potential wasted. Beast was good, though. Angel was set-dressing. Anyone else notice he flew from New York to San Francisco in only slightly less time than the X-Jet? He's pretty damn quick.... |

| Re: X-Men 3 I saw X-Men 3 the other day at a staff screening. I was completely glued to the screen - it was amazing!!! However I was slightly disappointed with the lack of Angel in it - in all the publicity running up to the release it came across as though he was a major player in the movie but in fact he does very little in it. It was a change from the previous two ... obviously because of the change in the director ... but it works. A couple of people I know however disagree with me - they were quite disappointed with it. Rich was slightly annoyed that they had adapted the Phoenix story. I didn't really believe the press when they were all saying that this was the final installment but after having seen the movie I finally see it as the end of the X-Men ... unfortunately . My friend Dave didn't like the fact that the ending was around San Franscico. For me it kinda had more of an impression though seeing as I have been to San Fran and been to those iconic landmarks that are used in the movie's finale. It made it all the more impressive. I liked the fact that there was a major influx of newer mutants although I just wish they had the time to develop them more. One thing that annoyed quite a bit was that they made the majority of the Brotherhood members punks, goths or alternative people. It kinda says to me that the people who belong to these subcultures are people to be feared which annoyed me. |

| Re: X-Men 3 Just came back from seeing it and loved it. It was the best of the three, in my opinion, for action. But X-men 2 has the best story. They were some great surprises in this film and a certain scene with Jean Greay and Xavier was breathtaking - very powerful stuff. Lots of new faces, all balanced very well through the film, apart from Angel who (as has aleady been mentioned) wasn't integral to the plot really. Excellent film, though. Can't wait for the DVD to come out now. ![]() |

Reading reviews on movie sites, I find the fans of X-men either love it or are very very disappointed. When people really love some story/legend the feel a sort of ownership so when someone tinkers with it they can get upset. So some fans might find the changes upsetting, I just feel at the core it was faithful to the elements that I enjoyed in the books. Also, many of the younger fans are more familliar with the cartoon series than the comics. Oh, I thought about Angel flying from coast to coast. He is rich, maybe his family has personal jets, or he flew to an airport, took a plane, the flew from SFO to Alcatraz .Also I saw it in San Francisco the crowd seem to enjoy the local settings. And we just finnished cleaning up after that mess the Hulk made ![]()

| Re: X-Men 3 How you can have an X-men film with both Juggernaut and Colossus in and not have them fight each other is beyond me, personally. A perfectly good film, but Jean Grey/Phoenix was not particularly good, she just stood there doing nothing the majority of the time, it was kind of dissapointing. And when she went psycho at the end, it did seem very odd. There was no way all the other mutants and soldiers could have escaped in time. |

The dialogue in the movie was okay for me until the very end when Magnito turned around and said "What have I done?" I nearly started laughing. Come on, you knew exactly what you did, you idiot!!! *sighs* I really don't like that line, it's been used way too much in movies and books.
