Sue, you've received enough positive feedback from editors that you know you can write. Now it's just a matter of timing: sending out the book that editors are looking for when they are looking for it.

You are right, Teresa, I should stop whittering and just go with the flow and keep submitting. I know that my next short story to be published is in an anthology with some very fine writers, so I can't be that bad

Yes, there's the rub indeed.

BUT (another but ) If I ever do have any of my work taken up by either an agent or publisher, I am going to grab the offer/chance with both hands and enjoy the ride!!!
