I suppose I need to start where I can. First would be developing the land, islands, kingdoms, religion(s), and characters. At least the story and ideas only requires my imagination. Though I'd most likely still need to read allot of books about plot, and characters, etc.
It certainly would be allot of work and time. Since books have long histories about every land, a person, unique races, or even the usual elves and dwarves. But I don't think they ever just use pure imagination, they do a great deal of research about everything they write about.
If I were to write about a castle, i'd probably be wise to read what I could about them. All real authors study the middle ages, atleast those dealing with it of course. Is that right?
I have a very long way to go. I hope my imagination can get me through some of it... |
