I don't know if this may be what you're looking for, but try http://www.kentwell.co.uk/. They offer re-creation days, which really are the best if you're interested in WWII or the Tudor lifestyle. Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire has a good one and there's also a good one at Berekely castle (also Gloucestershire)
