| stargate: fanfic This is just a little idea I have for a fanfic-story set in the Stargate universe. The story goes like this: the united forces of Tau'ri, Asgard and the Lucian alliance are defeated by the Ori in the battle at the supergate. Therefore, Earth is preparing for a next battle, more BC-304 type ships are being made (you know, the Daedalus-type) Feeling the urge for better weaponry than railguns and naquada-missiles, one of those ships is assigned to fly to another galaxy where a group of Ancients once lived for a short while to find out whether there's some tech overthere they can use... Naturally, that galaxy does not possess a gate system, which would render the entire plot of having to send a ship useless... I'm also disregarding the 'Camelot'-deus-ex-machina, because, noone knows what exactly it is and if it will or will not function. An alternate possibility is a more 'Halo'-style approach. In a next battle against the Ori, the ship makes a blind jump in hyperspace, as to not lead the Ori to Earth, and ends up in another galaxy. Anyhow, the plot evolves like this: the hyperspace window generator burns out or something like that, and becomes useless. They do however manage to install another, less capable (bound to one galaxy) hyperdrive. There they are, one ship, stuck in a totally unknown galaxy, searching for a working intergalactic hyperdrive, fencing off countless hostiles. I've only got this far, story-wise, but let me know what you think of it or if you have any ideas I could use... Greetz EDIT: if this is in the wrong forum, my apologies... |
