Crossbows

Does anybody happen to know where Eddings mentions crossbows in his books to do with Belgarath's world? (most likely the belgariad/mallorean, although there may be a mention in one of the prequels)

I only can remember them mentioned in Mallorea, with a barricade, but my brother insists that they can be found elsewhere- he thinks it might be arendia.

He does mention it in the Elenium. I remember Sparhawk warning Kalten about crossbows.
If fact, if I remember rightly the whole country of Lamorkland are crossbow specialists.

I don't remember much about crossbows in the Belgariad though, although I get the feeling that the Murgos, Nadraks and Zamorks may use them.
The Austurians used longbows (probably similar to english longbows at Agincourt)

I know about the elenium, and there is a mention of the malloreans using them, but he seems to think that there was some mention of either arendian serfs or bear cultists using crossbows... I disagree, but I was wondering if anybody else knew about it?

In the Tamuli [don't ask me what book] there was a warehouse that made crossbows, these were to be used during the attempted coup.This was discovered and sabotaged.

I am aware that crossbows are quite common in the tamuli/elenium.

What I am asking is if there are any mentions of them in the western countries of the belgariad/mallorean.

Woops sorry you did mention that in your earlier post my mistake.I can't remember any specific mention of them in the Belgaraid or Mallorean

"A serf with a pitchfork isn't much of a problem, a serf with a crossbow is another matter.
