)Well, it's a popular theory that Jon is the bastard of Rhaegar & Lyanna and that's what "Promise me, Ned!" was all about. ![]() | |

Re: Jon, The Wall and the realm 5 Kings and 3 Queens sorry... Littlefinger ~ "What little peace the order of the 5 kings left us will not long survive the three queens, I fear." "Three queens?" She did not understand. Nor did Petyr choose to explain. page 624

Re: Jon, The Wall and the realm Well the five kings refers to the war I suppose. Robb Stark, Joffrey, Stannis, Renly & Greyjoy. The three queens is more guesswork but I'm thinking this refers to; Dany, Cersei and Margery.

Re: Jon, The Wall and the realm I've just read through several of the threads and haven't yet come across anyone that shares my thinking about Bran and his coma promise of being a flying wolf. So I decided to join this forum. I am waiting for him to meet Dany, as one of the three heads of the dragon. I didn't really think about Jon and Dany ...

Re: Jon, The Wall and the realm OK, maybe theory was the wrong word, but ever since the dragons hatched, I have thought that Bran will end up on a one. Also, blood betrayal does not have to mean that, for example, Jon and Dany are related, and he betrays her, it could be a blood betrayal as in Jon and Bran are blood, and she is betrayed that way.

Re: Jon, The Wall and the realm i really like the theory of Jon being a bastardson of Lyanna and Rhaegar. It would fit perfectly with all the bits of information we know about the tower of Joy and Eddard secrecy towards Jon parentage. I mean he found Lyanna in the tower splattered with blood, she was defended by 3 knights of the kingsguard by order of rhaegar i believe, so if she was being defended by them then it would mean that she did not receive any wounds by torture or so on, but died giving life to her son. in many ways this would fit the prophecies very well, especially since the boook is called a song of ice and fire, now it refers to the two rival gods probably, but i can not help but notice that if this theory is true, he is a child descended from the North, Starks, (ICE) and on targaryen side of FIRE. His direwolf itself is a combination of white and red.

Re: Jon, The Wall and the realm Well you never know, Joffrey tortured Sansa within sight of the kingsguard and even had them aid in her beatings mental and physical. But if Rhaegar was a "true" knight, the L+R= Jon isn't that hard to believe.

Re: Jon, The Wall and the realm Jax, I agree with you. Meryn, Mandon, Boros, and Sandor all beat Sansa, iirc. But the one time that Tyrion, the Imp, a dwarf, as far from a Knight as you can get, saw Sansa's mistreatment, he immediately put an end to it. KB, Jaime reflected that Ser Gerold Hightower told him that they served the King and would not hinder him from assaulting and raping the Queen... and everyone agreed that Ser Gerold was a truer knight and better man than Jaime. And what about Ser Arryk and Ser Erryk? They were brothers, they served in the Kingsguard, and they killed each other. Why would two of the Kingsguard fight each other to the death? There had to be some serious palace intrigue happening then. Oh they were definitely better men. And I seem to recall that Prince Aemon, the Dragonknight, was one of the greatest to ever wear the White, yet he also cuckolded the King... his progeny ruled Westeros. Definitely a better man than Jaime. And if Barristan the Bold was so courageous, why did he not choose death or the Wall over being the Lord Commander of Robert's Kingsguard? At least Jaime was unapologetic about his betrayal... but Barristan the Bold is considered the better man. I don't always buy that line... "Ah, I miss the good old days!" In a song called Keeping the Faith, Billy Joel once sang, "The good old days weren't always good, and tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems." Last edited by Boaz; 19th June 2006 at 07:34 PM.
