Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond)

Well I'm a Liverpool fan as well so I was having heart palpatations watching that final. My friend who's a Newcastle supporter and thus couldn't care less who won said that it was a great game but I was too busy swearing, sweating and leaping around like a lunatic when SG's second goal went in.

I couldn't care less who comes up from the Championship, although it would be nice to beat Leeds again

I'm looking forward to the Barcelona/Arsenal match tomorrow. I don't care who wins, I just hope it's a good game.

Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond)

How can people consider soccer to be such an important thing in their lives...
It's a game, something you play for fun: because you like playing, you like watching, or you haven't got a real life and hence nothing fun to do...

Yes Void, don't interfere in the South Divide - it's something that's deep within a person...

Just the way it is

Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond)

Just watched the Champions league final, honestly thought Arsenal where going to do it but it wasn't to be.I watched this through the eyes off a neutral, although I was leaning towards Barca as they have the great Henrik Larsson playing for them, but I was very disappointed with the officials they seemed to be very biased towards Barca..giving them some really dodgy decisions marred the enjoyment of the game.

Hi Netted.

Man City season ticket holder here. Just got one thing to say: 3-1! You know what I mean!

Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond)

Soooo, Barcelona the Champions of Europe??? I know I'm Spurs but I was still rooting for Arsenal (sorry Rane). I really wanted them to do it and keep that 1-0 lead. As nixie said, it just wasn't meant to be.

I am livid about some of the referee's decisions, I didn't see the sending off but my partner said it was 50/50 and the ref gave Eto'o the benefit of the doubt.

I was gutted for Thierry Henry, I love that man, by far the best player in the Premiership at the moment, I wanted Arsenal to win for him.

Still, now the speculation is whether or not he will stay at Arsenal or leave to go to Barca. Here's a link to Sky Sports website, a post-match reaction from the man himself...

And Wenger's reaction to losing...

It went all wrong when he send off the goalkeeper. He should have allowed Deco's goal and just move on 11-11. The game was pretty much ruined after that moment, because the Gunners had to defend and couldn't really do anything else.
