| Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond) Yerss...but we gave you a fright in the second half. Three goals in the first 11 minutes should have been the start of a cricket score - what happened to you after that? Quote:
And a good win from behind for Ace's Jags as well...everyone but me celebrating wins, it seems... ![]() | |

| Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond) Thought that'd make you change you tune... ![]() Oh, and for those in the know, it's a certain Mr Owen's birthday today (totally overshadowed by mine, of course ). He's 29, and scored the first goal today. Good man.![]() Ahem. 3-0! Game over - and we go to 14th (alphabetically, anyway...). |

| Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond) That...that's not even funny. *snickergiggle* ![]() ![]() We will, of course, do what we always do - spend a huge amount of money on a once-proven striker who's now got serious injury problems. Oh, I wish I was joking... |

| Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond) Woo Hoo! Latest FIFA rankings put Australia at 28th, that's our highest ever ranking. It'll be a long time before we're right up there with the best of them but I think 20-30ish is a realistic goal for where we should be trying to stay. Moving to the Asian confederation was the best move ever for soccer/football in Australia, better opposition more often has to be a good thing . |

| Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond) Hull 0 - 0 Newcastle Dull, dull, dull. Still, we take the Tigers back to St James's, and we'll see what happens. Fingers crossed. In the meantime, I'll be watching my hometown team play Blackburn on Monday. Not that I expect much, but... oh, heck. Come on, Spartans! |
