Re: Football (Soccer to those across the pond)

Lest I mislead you Bob, I'm a Man United fan (although the Toon are my "second" team -- I was born in Gateshead). I think you'll score, but if I had to put money on the result, I'd say 2-1 to City. I really hope you make the Champions League -- it would shake things up a lot and give you a good chance to hold onto your best players.

Generic congratulations to Chelsea even though I'm dead inside after another torrid Liverpool performance etc etc...

but yeah, good performance from Chelsea, feel like they may need to step it up a bit for Bayern though.

Here's an interesting fact: only Manchester United, Arsenal, and Spurs, have won more FA Cups than Ashley Cole.

Gerrad wasn't on form. Carrol came on and suddenly Liverpool were in possession, up in Chelsea's half of the field for the rest of the match. Or it might have been 3/0.

Shows the psychology of confidence?

But give Tierry his due. I think he's a good captain?

I'd rather play with ten men than have him in my side... a liability through and through...

Yeh ,
I suppose That Stockport is in Manchester is it ?

As for that No one from crap is just the bittterness thats been thrown around for the last 35 years
Take a look at who`s had the best attendances since 1947 .
I will save you the trouble
It`s Man Utd .
And how come City have more or less been favourites all season and still dont sell out ?( except when they play Utd of course )

The last few years City have been selling tickets at a fiver and still never selling out .
As for bandwagon fans !
Jesus I was talkin to two City fans with brand new shirts and never even been to a match .
The only people who have gone on about the Utd fans not coming is from people who dont live in the place .
I do .
And as you may well be a bit giddy as you have won a title for the first time in 44 years .
check out the 99 parade in the city of Manchester .
Your not going to top that in Stockport are you .

Generic cheers

It was a strange match. Seemed like Liverpool were set on keeping things tight until they went two goals down and Carroll came on. All a little too late, but it was still close (about an inch short in fact!). But then I would say that...

And yeah, Bayern will require a lot more from Chelsea's performance. Ramires will be sorely missed

The thing with Liverpool is that we never seem to be inspired unless the odds are almost entirely against us, and then we crack into gear: oftentimes, it's too little to late. It's pointless to argue that Carroll should have started, despite his stellar performance, because no doubt we would have played exactly the same, and he would have been frustrated + not performed as well. I seriously think the club needs to invest in a sports psychologist - we seem to have the weakest collective psyche of the whole premier league!

If Chelsea can repeat the Barca performance, then they'll be fine. Ramires has been a definite gem, I have a feeling you'll miss him more than Captain Fantastic Terry...

Agent Keane for manager of the year!

Now let's hope Stoke can keep their end of the bargain, or we'll be relying on poor QPR to resist annihilation.
