Okay, take a last look around this place - time to upgrade, methinks.

vbulletin have launched a "gamma" version of this forum (ie, post beta, but not yet a "release candidate"), and the look is very different. Will suit here.

I'm also going to try and get everything from alternative-worlds onto this site - time for the chronicles-network to cease being "just" a forum, and instead branched out in terms of content. I may even host the "chronicles of empire" pages here, but would possibly be too much work, dragging it all over to here.

Time to become bigger, better.

Oh - and if no one minds, I'm seriously thinking of taking on "Google ad-words" - basically, little text ads like you've probably seen around other sites. I wan to use the money not just to pay for this site - but also to pay people for submitting book and film reviews.

Thoughts...

Sounds good to me - as long as none of the ads are the abominable pop-up or under type.

Absolutely no pop-ups or similar.

Google adwords is just small textlinks - I'll try to stick at 2 or 3 and see how it goes. I promise that I have no idea of turning this place into a banner site.

Sounds great to me, Brian. Upgrades are good. I'm especially in favor of getting everything on one site. And I agree with dwndrgn - as long as they aren't those evil pop-ups, I'm all in favor of going for it.

Backed up this morning - will make another backup about 6pm GMT - should be a coupl of hours before the server move.

Some complications mean that I won't be able to set up the full new site until next week - that means the additional material, and the new forum layout. After then, alternative-worlds and "Chronicles of Empire" will be physically joined, and I'll start up adwords then.

Cool deal. I was at the theatre all day yesterday and so completely missed moving day. Performances are going well. Which is good, as dress rehearsal didn't go well at all. Details later. I have two more shows today, and one tomorrow. It's a good show this year.

Glad it's going well.

I didn't see any downtime when I was expecting it most, so it must have been a smooth move.

I'll see if I can roll something new out around here for next week.
