Is this the same author that did the Secret Circle books and Vampire Diaries?

I didn't know there were any other books. I read them ten or more years ago. Maybe I will see if the library has the night world ones. As I remember they were an entertaining read.

Yhea, they're pretty simple, but a good read for in the bath i always found. The first ones called secret vampire, but my favourite's were always 'Enchantress' (or Spellbinder, if your in the USA) and Black Dawn.

If your interested, LJ Smith also did 2 other series that i know of: Forbidden Game, and dark Visions.

Nightworld should still be in print as they were re-published with different covers a couple of years ago. I thought that might have been a bit of build up to the release the that elusive 10th book, but alas i am proven wrong.

Dunno about the others, try amazon, or their used to be a good wesite called circle daybreak for LJ Smith fans, but it doesnt seem to be running at the mo.

Netted this is from Fantastic Fiction so not all the information might be correct. You might want to do a search on the web for that book to see if it's in print. Maybe that bloke wasn't incorrect. *shurgs*

Re: Night world, LJ Smith

Mail from the publishers seems to indicate an October 2006 release date for Strange Fate, 1998 looks like an incorrect entry to me.

Apparently it's not the final book of the series, at last 2 more are on the horizon.

Question Re: Night world, LJ Smith

Me & few friends are starting up a roleplaying game very much based off of the nightworld series (almost down to the T actually) and I wanted to know if anybody here had or knew of a list of the spells used in L.J. Smith's book series? A friend of ours wants to play a male witch so me and my hubby have been going through each of the books looking for &writing down the ones we remember. If anybody knows of a listing online or has one personally from a previous game or that would fit in the world it'd be really helpful.

Thanks.

Re: Night world, LJ Smith

Ok, Just to let you know, as a fellow LJ Smith reader i have to let you know that Lisa has been going through a very tough time over the past couple of years. There are a couple of websites and fourms that contain a huge amount of fan base for her and she always visits to hear her fans views. Strange Fate has never been produced and It is not a Fan Fic... Just an unfinished book. She plans to rerelease the Night World series with so slight modifications where the books let you know what happened to the couples such as james and poppy. She's going through some legal matters over a show called HEX. There are some characters that resemble some of the other characters in her books. She says that after everthing is finished she'll rerelease the books with the final book that we've all long awaited. She is also looking to rerelease her Vampire Diaries with some slight changes. She stated in a letter that they were supposed to have been printed as adult books but an editor said that it would be easier to omit a few things and produce the book as a young adult series. Seeing as most of her fan base is much older now, i was 14 when i first started reading her books and i'm 23 now, that she's looking to rerelease the books with the mature content added back in. That is how things stand currently.

Thanks for the info was a huge relief to know that she's doing fine because I've read somewhere that says she's having some health issues and stuff. I'm a big fan of her Night World series. So, basically, Strange Fate was never going to be released then?

Surprise that Hex turned out to be similar to the characters in her books.

Yeah, I read a blog by her that said something alone the line of her friend phoned and said "There's thing new British Tv show about a girl called Cassie who find's out she's a witch..." etc

Smith then told her publisher/agent and there was enough evidence to take legal action. I did a class on law for my college and it takes quite a lot to do that...so eeep. I like Hex and I'm quite gutted that that happened.

Strange fate IS going to be released...and at the same time they should be re-releasing the others again. It kept getting postponed for various reasone, personal and I think professional aswell.

The last date was October/September 06 but it got put back again. Fingers crossed!! I wanna find out about if Ash and Mary-Lynette get together! (You know what I mean)

Re: Night world, LJ Smith

Hey everyone?

I am a big fan of the Night world series and for about 6-7 years now i9 have been in search of the 10th book in the series but have been unable to find any copies of it. however per the information i have found from waterstones book stores and my own personal serches i am in a great deal of confusion.

This book was first supposed to be released in 1998, however it was not.

The dates of release then have always been changed the list below tells you all the dates that so far the book was supposed to have been released:

13 Jan 1999.
16 Nov 2000.
23 Aug 2002.
15 Oct 2005.
12 Dec 2007.
12 Oct 2008.
and
12 Aug 2012.

obviously the last two dates listed haven't happened yet but these are the most recent dates that i have been given for the release of this book my source was waterstones.

I am at a total loss however as to whether or not this book has or ever will be published I am getting to the point that I feel I might give up the serch for this book as my elder brrother has done.

I know in my heart however that i will not give up this search until the day i die but anyway.

I have also had a look on Fantastic Fiction and this site states that the book has already been published on 2nd November 2006, but so far as i can tell this has not happened.

has anyone got any idea whats going on with this book please I need to conclude what happens with Circle Daybreak and the Wild Powers.

I really would appreciate any information anyone has on this vital volume in the saga.

Thanks guys.
