Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn FINALLY!!!! A thread about the Ironborn and Dany. I think this will be a very important twist in the story and can have great effects on Dany's outcome. -Euron wants to marry Dany and rule all Westeros -Victarion wants to steal Dany from Euron thus affecting his revenge -Aeron and Asha do not want Euron to rule So, the questions that have been going round in my head and that I've posted here and there in the past are: 1) Will Victarion ever reach Dany? What will he do and say? Will he get revenge? 2) Will Victarion and Dany (and maybe even Euron) travel to Valyria to learn more about controlling dragons? 3) Will Euron ever suspect his brother's treachery? 4) Will Asha ally herself with Dany? Or will Asha pick up the pieces after Euron's defeat (assuming he will be)? 5) Does Victarion carry with him the dragon horn and will it ever be put to use? 6) Will Dany finally get her fleet to transport her army to Westeros? 7) Have the Ironborn bitten off more than they can chew by occupying Tyrell lands? 8) Will the Ironborn simply withdraw from the North? 9) What role will Aeron play (notice the Targaryen-style "ae" in the name - before somebody slams me, I am not suggesting he is a Targaryen, especially Aeron as the most Ironborn of all) providing his piousness and the fact that he does not want to rule himself? Will he harbour and support Asha since her disappearance? Will he plot to bring down Euron for Victarion? 10) What is Euron's mongrels' role (in unfriendly seas..in Valyria)? 11) Will Dany promise (and deliver) an independent kingdom for the Ironborn? 12) Is Theon still alive (I think he is) and what role will he play vis-à-vis the new ruler (his uncle), his sister, the North, the remaining Starks? Anyways, thanks Snagas and discussion would be good. I DO NOT SOW.

Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn I would think Dorne is a more likely candidate to join Dany. But that dragon horn is cause for concern. If it actually does what Euron claims, then there might be some conflict between Dany and the Ironborn. Granted, thats is Euron is alive long enough.

Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn Do yu think the person has to survive blowing the dragon horn (Someone like Dany who can withstand flames) or can they merely have one of their pawns blow it, burn out their lungs and keel over and then allow Euron to control the dragons? I don't think anybody would be capable of surviving such an ordeal except for another Targaryen or possible the dragons themselves.

Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn Wow, thats one big post TK-421, I think your idea about Dany transporting her armies using the Ironborn fleet is a good one. Do you think Dany will marry Victarion? She knows she has got to marry somebody, but then again i doubt it would be Victarion. Maybe it'll be Prince Quentyn of Dorne, Doran seemed pretty keen on that, wasn't it his sister Elia who married Rheagar?

Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn It seems extremely unlikely that the other two heads would NOT be male. After all, Dany is like a mirror of Aegon, who had two wives, so wouldn't it make sense for her to have two husbands? This mirroring has also been alluded to in several instances in the books.

Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn Snagas: The point about Dorne is well taken and there is a possibility that she could marry Quentyn (even though we haven't even met him as a character yet). Nobody seems to consider her marrying Jon as a possibility. Targaryens can't seem to be able to keep it in their pants so they keep it in the family. She will either marry Victarion or use him and destroy him (maybe all of the above). Jaxom/Smiling Weirwood: Good point and yes she may yet have 2 husbands. Genesis2: Most people in this forum seem to think that Theon is the POV that GRRM is bringing back. There are other possibilities in my mind: Sansa (as she was Alayne in the last book) and Catelyn. Anyways, I think the Ironborn have a huge role to play yet and all power to them.

Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn Yes I muast admit it seems more likely that she will have two husbands but there are just so many more elligible highborn females around her age that could bring her a great deal of power. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Dany married a man and a woman, of course only Dany's child could be the heir but she is looking to marry for position before all else.

Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn Danny can't have children, she's barren. that was the cost of "saving" Drogo, that and her unborn child of course. That's why i think her whole "I deserve the Iron throne because it's my birthwright" is such bollocks. Ignoring the fact that there's no such thing as a "rightfull" monarch (considering that if you go far enough back in time you'll come across one of their ancestors who hacked the previous claimant to pieces with a broadsword), Danny is unable to conceive an heir to leave a clear line of succesion. If she assumes the throne, no matter how good a ruler she is, how peacefully she leaves the realm, when she eventually dies there will be no clear heir, and the land will get torn to shreds (again) as all the nobles squable for a piece of the pie. She's never seen westeros, she knows nothing of it or it's people, and yet she thinks she has a god(s) given right to it. She's completely different to her brother visery's in every other way, but in this they're identical. Westeros is a big shiny bauble that their ancestors got to play with, and danny want's a turn with it.

Re: Daenerys and the Ironborn I think, in the end, Theon is going to play a big part in some way or another. Besides from the second book, he didn't really have that much of a role, and even then his side of the story was basicaly just a conflict between him not fitting with the Starks or his own kind. My guess is he's going to somehow help revenge the Starks. He's already showed some valor when he spared Bran and Rickon. Of course, that means I'm assuming he's alive. I'm fairly confident he is, though. In SoS, there were many references to Theon and whether not he was alive or dead.
