Book Winnners announced!!

If you'll remember, I ran a series of competitions, where posters could enter to win a book by one of ten authors...

Well, I closed the board earlier today, then used a Random Number Generator to pick a post number from each thread.

I recognise plenty of names who entered, and I genuinely wish I could give every single person who entered a prize.

However, the bad news is that I can only offer 10 prizes - the good news is that I think we're going to see more competitions here in future.

Here are the results of the competition:

Win a Terry Pratchett book! - direghost
Win an Arthur C Clarke book! - Nokia
Win a Steven Erikson book! - sanityassassin
Win a Robert Heinlein book! - weaveworld
Win a Gene Wolfe book! - Lacedaemonian
Win a Michael Moorcock book! - ladyflorange
Win an Anne McCaffrey book! - JohnSnow
Win a David Gemmell book! - genisis2
Win a George R R Martin book! - GOLLUM
Win a Tad Williams book! - Denie Alconn

If the winners could spend a couple of days deciding which book they would like to choose from their respective author (and remember it's paperbacks only!), then I'll send you a PM on Wednesday and arrange shipping information with you.

And congratulations to everyone who won, and best of luck next time for all those who didn't (including me!!).

Congratulations to all the winners!

Now you'll all learn the hard part wasn't winning, but choosing just one book by that author...

You mean I didn't win? Right then, I'd better start my own competition right away with loads of prizes. The rules will be simple: you have to be called Mark Robson to enter, and only the real Mark Robson will win.

Congrats to all the winners.

Congrats to all the winners.
The downside is that you only win books written by the real Mark Robson!

Congratulations all winners!

To direghost:I'd recommend Going Postal, Monstrous Regiment, or Soul Music. These are my favorites, plus they're fairly long as far as Discworld novels go (which is a good thing if you end up loving Pratchett as much as I do.)

Re: Book Winnners announced!!

direghost - as you've only ever read Good Omens for Terry Pratchett, the one I'd recommend is Small Gods, which is a funny standalone, or Men at Arms which introduces the Night Watch & Captain Vimes for the first time.
