Anne to be inducted in the Science Fiction Hall of Fame!

Anne McCaffrey will be one of four inductees this year to the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, along with Frank Herbert, George Lucas, and Frank Kelly Freas.

The induction will take place on June 17, 2006 at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle, WA, USA. Tickets for the induction ceremony and other programs will be available for purchase on March 30 for members and April 5 for the general public.

Seems pretty amazing that Frank Herbet and George Lucas have never made it into it so far.

Well, the Sci Fi Museum and Hall of Fame was only created in 1996, and they only induct 4 people a year: one in film/tv/media, one in art, one in literature, and one open spot. Still you would think Lucas might have gotten inducted sooner in the film/tv/media slot.

To have started so late, but induct such small numbers, sounds somewhat silly to me personally.

If someone's going to set up a pivotal guide to the greats of SFF, I should have thought they'd need to populate the halls a little first before opening them.
