Does anyone remeber this book

I read this book about 15 years ago and for some reason I started thinking about it again. It was about a war and there were this little people (human child sized) who were archers. I remember they were child sized because some of them were given the kings childrens armor. It may have been a series.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Could it have been something by Dennis McKiernan? I believe that halfling archers often figure in his books.

Yes, its definitely Dennis L. McKiernan.

The Iron Tower trilogy:
The Dark Tide
Shadows of Doom
the Darkest Day

A magical darkness covers the land. The little people, called Warrows, make excellent archers during this time because their gem-like eyes allow them to see through the darkness better than the other races.
