Re: Thoughts(Farseer Spoilers)

i was in the same boat as you. all i could think about was Fitz and Molly. What i ended up doing was reading all their scenes (except i have an audiobook so i listened). it gives better closure, and to us fitz and molly fans its more fulfilling. Start from when they met as kids, skip to when they met as teenages, and skip to how they got together again at 18. avoid all the bad stuff because it will just depress you. The skip to the ending knowing that they get together in the end regardless of everything they went through just makes it more impactful. Like you i trully wish we could get a side novel of Fitz and Molly in Witherwoods, but its not to be. After Reading specifically their "love story" over and over it becomes more powerful and beautiful. you can let them go easier because you know how happy they are.

Then Most importantly you have to move on and read another book with characters that are really involving. I highly recommend Pillars of the Earth, it has a couple in there that are so similar to Fitz and Molly in spirit, tho i wont say more to ruin it. Pillars of the earth is incredible. Also the best fantasy novel i read this year is the Curse of Chalion By Lois Mcmaster Bujold. The book is a goddamn masterpiece on every level. And the characters are supremely well done.

All in All, Fitz and Molly stay with us so potently because of Hobb's genius. their story made me so depressed after Assassins Quest that i almost regretted reading the novels. If i wasnt a little spoiled when i first came to this thread and discovered they ended up together, i would never ever have read tawny man. Think about it, if Fitz and Molly's story wasnt so tragic we wouldnt love them as much as we do. I like to look at it this way, they both made purposeful choices that led to their tragic seperation. IMHO they were together in hearts from when they were six till when they were 20. And then from 35 to death. Soul mates that finally do come together again. Tragic story but the ending was fufilling.

so read their love story over and over. you will be sated. Then move on to other books: i Highly Highly Highly recommend Curse of Chalion. I know thats how i dealt with it. Now even now when i think about Fitz and Molly it makes me quite sad, yet when i think about how they met, how they first got married in their hearts, how they first made love and how they got back together and got married living in a friggin castle to spend the rest of their... life doesnt quite get better than that. like fitz i am content.

The most important thing Hobb has taught me, is that when you meet the love of your life hold them tight because you can go a lifetime regretting it if you dont.
