Like us, you’re probably keenly awaiting the return of The Walking Dead with season two of the zombie show set to air later this month.

It returns to FX on October 21st, just two weeks on Friday, but if you can’t wait until then, there’s a little taster which has been released this week by AMC.

Namely, six short webisodes which are each a couple of minutes in length, and tell the story of a family which gets torn apart at the start of the zombie apocalypse. Indeed, the name of the series of shorts is “Torn Apart”.

The series starts with a mother coming to in a crashed car, her kids nowhere to be seen.

As she runs frantically down the deserted street shouting for them, the camera pans and focuses on a bicycle in a front yard… a clue to the star of this mini-series – “bicycle girl”, the badly decayed zombie kid who was shot by Rick in the first season.

It’s a pretty cool series of webisodes, although on the AMC website it doesn’t allow viewers outside the US to watch (unless you can fiddle your way around that by hiding your IP).

Or you could just watch it on YouTube here, this is episode one, the rest are all up here too. It’s definitely well worth a peep to keep you tided over until a fortnight’s time.

Then we’ll finally get to see whether season two can live up to the promise of the first, despite the departure of showrunner Frank Darabont.
