Infinity Blade 2 set for December release
Epic has some exciting news for iOS gamers.
The sequel to its touchscreen combat game, Infinity Blade, is sharpened and ready to be unsheathed in December of this year.
In fact, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch owners will be able to get their grubby fingerprints on Infinity Blade 2 on the first day of the month, along with their first piece of advent calendar chocolate (a miniature reindeer, we’re betting).
Epic promises that Infinity Blade 2 “builds upon the addictive gameplay and breathtaking visuals of the original game with dozens of new locations set across expansive 3D environments.”
And there’s lots of finger-based hacking and loot collecting to be done, no doubt. It’s a shame Epic hasn’t given more details on exactly what’ll be different about the game, which leads us to believe – given the fairly imminent release – that it will be more of the same.
And while the original IB was definitely a gorgeous outing in iOS gaming, it didn’t have huge amounts of lastability in terms of the rather repetitive gameplay.
There’s a trailer up on the official website if you want to have a look, but it doesn’t give much away except for the fact that you’ll be facing giant monsters with more teeth than brain cells.
As well as the game, a novella is being launched – “Infinity Blade: Awakening” – penned by NYT best-selling fantasy author Brandon Sanderson (of “The Wheel of Time” fame).
