Xbox 360 Avenger controller add-on for FPS players
Whatever your shooter poison is – from Dead Space through Gears of War, Crysis or Call of Duty – more fanatical players might find this controller add-on interesting.
The Avenger from Gaming Zap (spotted by Games Radar) is a device which sits on top of your Xbox controller to make it easier to play the humble FPS.
How exactly? Well, the spidery looking invention allows you to press up to nine buttons simultaneously without taking your thumbs off the dual analog sticks and interrupting your movement or looking around.
Normally you can reach the triggers and bumpers without releasing the sticks, of course, but the face buttons are more problematic.
The Avenger basically uses a simple clip-on mechanical system to enable these buttons to be pushed using your fingers at the front of the controller. A clever little idea, but we wonder exactly how well it will work in practice.
There’s a system of adjustable sensitivity for the various levers though, so you should be able to fine-tune the Avenger to suit your style of play. That’s certainly the theory, anyway.
You can check out more information, including a video of the device in action, and order the Avenger from here.
It isn’t cheap, mind, costing £50. And just be warned that if you’re the sort of person who tends to chuck their controller on the floor after a heavy defeat on their favourite map, this spindly add-on probably won’t last long.
