Jurassic Park: The Game, which consists of four episodes of adventure rolled into one title, is set for release in mid-November.
According to developer Telltale Games, it’ll arrive as a downloadable version on PSN and PC, as well as a boxed copy on the Xbox.
The devs recently showed the dino-themed game off at the Gamescom show in Germany, and have posted up a couple of new screen shots on their blog page here.
Hardcore fans of the original film will be pleased to hear that the game takes its inspiration from that first flick, and does its best to recreate the suspenseful atmosphere, not to mention the intricate modelling of the dinosaurs.
This won’t be a game where you’re blasting away, but rather running and hiding from a selection of big, mean and hungry dinos. Including, of course, the infamous toilet bashing T-Rex – although as per the original movie, that can be evaded by keeping very, very still. And sweating a lot.
An iPad version of the game is also slated to be produced at some point down the line.
Telltale’s previous credits include CSI games, Sam & Max and Monkey Island reboots (some ex-LucasArts designers work for Telltale). The outfit is also working on a game of the zombie-tastic TV series, The Walking Dead.
We’ll certainly be looking forward to that one, and the launch of the second series on the box.
