EA has announced that a new downloadable add-on module will be made available for Dragon Age II on July 26th.
This is a whole new slab of story, and apparently Bioware has made an effort to ensure it has a different feel to the standard game, not just slapping some textures and a few new dungeons across and calling it DLC.
It will explore Hawke’s lineage, with a bunch of hardened criminals coming after our lead character, and it’ll involve a trip to an ancient Grey Warden prison establishment, which sounds like fun. Don’t forget your stripy pyjama top of cold resistance.
The DLC can be accessed at any point in the Dragon Age II campaign, and it contains new weapons, monsters and all the sort of stuff you’d expect.
Perhaps most interestingly, the developer is also promising that this adventure will emphasise more tactical combat, with some harrowing sounding fights against a number of mini-bosses promised.
It sounds like a worthy slab of DLC for DA II addicts. We certainly weren’t one of the haters of the game and its more arcade-like combat direction, but one thing we weren’t keen on was the way bunches of monsters appeared out of thin air in mid-fight. Maybe that’s been addressed too…
Dragon Age II: Legacy will be released at the end of the month on PC, Xbox and PS3, costing $10 or 800 MS Points.
