Focus Home Interactive has launched the website for A Game of Thrones: Genesis.
The game’s a strategy affair based on the George RR Martin novel which has also inspired the HBO TV adaptation that’s now airing in the UK.
Developed by Cyanide Studio (who ported Blood Bowl onto PC and consoles), it’s set in the period preceding the start of the book, with the player taking the role of one of the eight major houses of Westeros who are vying for the Iron Throne.
The freshly launched website gives an overview of the various houses, from Stark to Lannister, detailing their history and in-game bonuses, as well as providing some new screenshots.
A Game of Thrones: Genesis isn’t solely concerned with military might and conquest, although that’s certainly one path to victory. Diplomacy and politics can be an equally effective weapon against rival houses, or indeed attrition via the economy.
The single player campaign has been written under the supervision of George RR Martin, apparently, and eight player online play is also promised. Expect to battle against others and the creatures north of the wall on your PC this summer.
