Yes, the original EverQuest MMORPG (the one we cut our teeth on way back in 1999) is still going strong, witnessing the release of the seventeenth expansion for the game.

House of Thule introduces 13 new zones, 120 quests, 17 missions and 18 raids, along with a level cap rise from 85 to 90.

The house of the title sounds like a spooky place, the home of the God of Fear Cazic Thule. It’s a labyrinth of secret passages and sliding walls which is easy to get lost in, and the rooms contain the chilling nightmares of EverQuest’s many faction leaders brought to life. Plus there are no toilets.

The biggest new addition with this expansion, however, is that of player housing. You can now purchase a plot of land and build your own dwelling, decorating it to your adventurer’s own personal taste. It’ll be possible to collect and display treasured items and trophies, too, with the added bonus that in the virtual world of EQ, no double glazing salesmen or Jehovah’s Witnesses will ever come knocking on your door.

EverQuest: House of Thule is available as a digital download from the Station Store priced $40. Included in that price you get all the previous expansions, a “live topiary mount” (whatever that is), 2 extra bag slots in your inventory, plus a 16 slot bag. Loot-tastic.
