At the Comic-Con in New York last weekend, Marvel revealed that Konami is to bring the retro classic coin-op X-Men, the side-scrolling beat-’em-up, to the Xbox and PS3.
It will be available to download on Xbox Live and PSN, Kotaku reports, and as with the arcade cabinet will allow up to six players to take the roles of Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Colossus, Nightcrawler and Dazzler in the fight against the evil mutants.
Players will be able to drop in to a game at any point, and it will be possible to fight out custom match-ups, and set your own difficulty levels.
The X-Men arcade game is eighteen years old, and oddly enough it seems Konami won’t be updating the graphics. That seems like something of a missed opportunity. If you want to see the Comic-Con trailer for the game, it’s over here on YouTube.
