Alien Breed 2: Assault released
Team 17 has unleashed the latest in its series of Alien Breed shooters on Xbox Live Arcade and the PC (via Steam).
Alien Breed is a top down blaster which was a hit back in the nineties, and this polished modern reprise (powered by the Unreal 3 engine) has already witnessed two outings, Alien Breed: Impact and Evolution.
In Alien Breed 2: Assault, the developer has bolted on several new elements to the formula. There’s a new survivor mode (for all Destiny’s Child fans) where we’d guess you face an endless torrent of aliens, for either one or two players.
A fresh item upgrade system, new weapons and boss battles are also promised. Oh, and some choreographed set pieces, apparently (presumably not the dancing variety, but the flame-throwering aliens to death sort). There’s a demo, too, should you wish to check out what you’re getting first-hand before purchasing.
Alien Breed 2: Assault will set you back 800MS points on the Xbox, or £6.99 on the PC. It’s out right now, and will be coming to the PS3 later this year.
