Resident Evil: Afterlife made a packet on its opening weekend in the States – something like $27 million – so it was pretty much inevitable that another outing in the films-of-the-games franchise would be planned.

According to lead Milla Jovovich, anyway, who told Vulture “we’re definitely going to make another one”.

She also commented that Director Paul Anderson already has some ideas for Resident Evil 5, and that he wants ideas from the franchise’s fan base, too.

Jovovich said that they’ve been talking to fans on Twitter and other sites, and that this is going to be a movie where they discuss with those fans what they want to see in terms of characters and plot. “It’s going to be a more interactive process,” Jovovich concluded.

So, what are you waiting for? Get tweeting your evil ideas for the next instalment. A film which doesn’t irritate hardcore fans of the video games, perhaps?

Although it remains to be seen exactly how much of the fan feedback will be used, given that too many resident chefs will doubtless spoil the broth…
