Star Wars Uncut fan movie released
A fan project which has been a long time in the making has finally been released.
Star Wars Uncut is a novel comedy project in which fans of the famous sci-fi franchise and amateur film-makers across the globe were asked to submit a short 15 second retake of a chosen scene from the original movie. These were then stitched together to form a highly schizophrenic and amusing re-run of the entire movie.
Scenes include all different types of animation, from video game style cut-scenes to Lego figures. Then there are comic strips, action figures, vegetables posing as spaceships, takes on Kung Fu movies, characters made of cut-out photo heads stuck to the top of spirit bottles (the stormtroopers are Jim Beam); there’s a mind boggling variety here.
Some great comedy touches include the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures defending the Tantive IV at the start of the film, alongside Woody the Cowboy. And R2D2 making a USB plug-in sound effect when Leia hides the plans in the droid and records her holographic message.
But enough of our rambling about it – go check it out for yourself here. Be warned, the following film contains footage of lots of disturbing looking men in tin-foil hats.
Further Uncut movies are planned after this one.
