Lionhead is giving Fable III players the chance to design their own villager to interact with and receive a quest from in the game.
The Villager Maker is a tool which you can check out here. Anyone can play around with it and create an NPC, although only those who pre-order Fable III will be able to import their creation into the game world, when the three-quel finally hits the shelves at the end of October.
Your villager can have up to 2000 permutations, Lionhead says, with unique personality traits, a choice of hairstyle and accent, home region, back-story and so forth. Whether you want to create a filthy no-good thief, or a valiant knight, the choice is yours.
Although it probably won’t let you design a stinking rich noblewoman who wants to give away all her money, her husband’s entire armoury of magical weapons, and the key to her chastity belt. Or will it? No, it won’t.
Should you wish, it’s also possible to create a wallpaper of your character to adorn your desktop, or share with friends on Facebook.
Fable III promises a rich story of revolution, and the usual sense of humour (with John Cleese on the voice cast). It’ll be out for the Xbox on October 29th, although PC owners will have to wait until Christmas before they can get their mitts on it.
