THQ has announced that its upcoming third-person shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is set to be arriving on the PC format as well as consoles.

Jonathan Dowdeswell, General Manager of Relic Entertainment commented: “The loyal PC audience is incredibly important to us here at Relic so we are delighted to be able to announce the PC version of the game.”

This action-RPG is set in the famous Warhammer 40,000 universe, with the player donning the armour of a space marine, an elite genetically modified warrior who faces the might of the savage Orks.

One of humanity’s “Forge Worlds”, where its most effective weapons are created, comes under attack in the game, and it’s up to you to save it. Duke Nukem style cracks about chewing bubblegum and suchlike are compulsory (for us, anyway).

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will be out on the PC, along with the Xbox 360 and PS3, at the start of next year.
