EA has revealed that as well as a downloadable prequel game for Dead Space 2, the company will also be bringing out an animated feature and graphic novel.

Dead Space Salvage is the title of the graphic novel, which tells the story of the Magpies who discover an abandoned mining ship. They then get caught between the government, rushing to claim the vessel, and the necromorphs which are reanimating on board.

Published by IDW and illustrated by Christopher Shy, Dead Space Salvage will be out in December 2010.

The animation will go under the name of Dead Space Aftermath, and it explores the government’s ghastly scheme to send an unwitting crew to the Aegis VII disaster to get exposed to marker shards, in an effort to produce a “marker blueprint” carrier.

Aftermath is being put together by Starz/Film Roman, and it will be released in January 2011, at the same time the Dead Space 2 game hits the shelves.

If you’re a fan of the Dead Space series, you’ve definitely got plenty to get your teeth into with the prequel game on top of this stuff, and of course, Dead Space 2 itself.
