SyFy has released a trailer for its TV film Sharktopus. And it looks so bad, it’s good. Maybe. Shark at the front, and octopus at the rear, the Sharktopus is a deadly chomping, tentacle waving monstrosity that growls like a bear on steroids.
Produced by Roger Corman, the famous “king of the B-movies” (who also produced Dinoshark), Sharktopus stars Eric Roberts and has its tongue planted so firmly in its cheek, there’s a danger it’ll pierce right through.
A bit like one of Sharktopus’s tentacles does to one of the many Baywatch style beauties sunbathing on the beach in the trailer – which you can see here.
Shaktopus is, of course, a top secret navy project designed to fight Somali pirates, controlled by electronic implants in its brain. Which go a bit wrong in a not at all predictable fashion.
Expect to see the film, in all its glorious cheesiness, later on this year.
