Pirates of the Burning Sea MMORPG readies for expansion
Avast, ye landlubbers, hoist the main-sail, and… okay, let’s not do the pirate thing, and plump for a different style of delivery instead. Very different, perhaps. Like, say, a fruit machine. So…
The MMORPG Pirates of the Burning Sea is set to receive its first major expansion in August; cherry, cherry, melon.
Called Power & Prestige, it introduces over 60 new missions, four new factions, and several new concepts, the first of which is port governance. Bleep! Whoop! Bleep!
Port governance means exactly that – you can be elected the governor of a port, giving you economic and military powers, not to mention a fancy title and a salary. Hold-hold-spin.
Other enhancements include an overhaul of avatar combat skills, making brawling its own fighting school, plus revised skills for every career. Ship combat has also been fine tuned, and the graphics have been tweaked. Nudge, nudge.
“With nearly 2 million ships sunk on the Burning Sea over the last 2.5 years, our players have been busy,” said Russell Williams, CEO of Flying Lab software. “We have been listening to our players and incorporating their input as much as possible into this new expansion. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved, as this expansion allows players to reach new levels of power and prestige!”
Players with an active subscription can apply to take part in the Power & Prestige beta by visiting http://www.burningsea.com/page/ppbeta.
“Arrrrr!” (that’s not a pirate, it’s a punter booting the fruit machine out of frustration and breaking his metatarsal).
