Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to return
Yes, the re-make frenzy continues – although strictly speaking, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles has already been remade.
It was revisited as recently as 2007 with TMNT, a CGI version of the ass-kicking testudines.
If you’ve not seen it, God forbid, the turtles are a bunch of four super-fast martial arts experts named after Renaissance artists (and yes, the original comics were conceived as a parody).
This latest re-engineering of the franchise is being undertaken by Paramount and Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay’s production company. Bay is most famous for his recent highly successfully reboot of Transformers.
Rumour has it, according to Metro.co.uk, that the focus of the new film might be an origin storyline.
Will the heroes in a half-shell be half-good this time? We didn’t have the pleasure of seeing the 2007 film – we spent the year carrying around a barge-pole and waving it maniacally at any cinema we walked past which was showing the picture – but the critical reception it got was poor, to say the least.
