Kalypso has announced a new action-adventure game for the PC and Xbox 360 console.
The First Templar follows the tale of two characters in the late thirteenth Century, a French Templar and his noble lady companion who has been branded a heretic (not difficult in those days – stirring your broth anti-clockwise put you in league with the Devil).
The game intends to explore the mysteries behind the Templar Order, and includes layered conspiracies plus, of course, hushed mentions of the Holy Grail.
Uncovering said mysteries won’t be easy, not with the likes of the Inquisition breathing down the back of your neck (threatening you with comfy chairs).
You’ll be able to tackle this adventure switching between the two characters as necessary, or via a co-op mode, where you and a friend play the Templar and the lady simultaneously.
An element of role-playing is promised, with character development and skill selections to make using the experience points gained from questing and exploring the world.
Apparently twenty historically accurate locations from the 13th Century have been recreated by the game developer.
Expect The First Templar to come bursting onto the scene at the beginning of next year.
