Smith and Jones are going to star in MiB 3, it would seem. Although the aged comedy duo seem like an odd choice for the darkly dressed extra-terrestrial busting pair.

Of course, it isn’t Mel and Griff Rhys who have been cast in Men in Black 3, but the original actors Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones who have been confirmed for the three-quel.

Director Barry Sonnenfeld told Showbiz 411 that the pair are signed up for the film, and he also revealed that, as we recently speculated, it will be a 3D movie.

That’s hardly surprising given the current trend for all things three dimensional, when it comes to films, TV and indeed video games.

It’s a fairly safe bet that the title will be Men in Black 3D. Release is slated for next year, according to IMDB.

Hopefully the film won’t just rely on 3D aliens and goo shooting out of the screen, and will also manage a funny script and palatable plot.

Otherwise, we’ll all be reaching for the memory erasing stick things that the Men in Black are so fond of using.
