Police South Korea is investigating claims that some pro-gamers are actually fixing matches on the science fiction themed game StarCraft.
The game has been developed by Blizzard, who also works on the huge game World of Warcraft.
Players are classified into leagues, where they can receive help, training and even end up on one
of the televised competitions and this where the match fixing comes in, as there is a large following who gamble on the outcome of the games.
Gaming such as this is being called e-Sports and around seventy per cent of the players are on StarCraft.
The prospect of match fixing is bad for any contest as it cheats, players and fans, but it is not known how wide spread this problem is at the moment.
