It seems that the new Doctor Who, Matt Smith was in need of real medical attention when stunt in the Baltic Sea went wrong.
The twenty seven year old had decided that a stunt double was not needed even though it meant actually getting into the freezing water to shoot a scene.
But within minutes the actor was in trouble, which is not really a surprise considering that he was only wearing loin cloth for the scene being filmed at St Peter Ording off the north coast of Germany.
After filming several scenes along the freezing coastline, Matt Smith had to run along the beach close to the sea, it was hear when it all got too much for the actor and he ended up on the sand.
Luckily, he is fine now and filming continues Doctor Who returns to the BBC at Easter.
