You have to wonder how people are sitting on a fortune and have no idea about it, especially when a comic can be sold at auction for a massive £640,000 making it the $1 million comic book and completely smashing the previous comic record.
The comic was a 1938 edition of Action Comics, the number one issue and the one that has Superman lifting up a car on the cover.
The auction was organised through comicconnect.com and although the seller of the comic remained anonymous, but is believed to be a well known New York collector.
The comic was classed as being 8 out of 10 in the grading system used to value comics, the previous record was $317,000 and most surprisingly, it was paid for another copy of the same Action Comics issue number one.
