For some fans, the Terminator Salvation film was a bit of a disappointment, maybe it did not match up to the glossy Arnie films with those one liners and massive special effects, or perhaps it was because of the cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Whatever the reason, the Terminator franchise lives on, it maybe not be in the hands of a top studio, in fact the franchise is not in the hands of any studio at the moment.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Lionsgate are interested in having a go at the next Terminator film and have offered around $15 million and small share of the box office takings for the privilege.
The current rights holder, Halcyon, are currently going through bankruptcy hearings and a deal would probably save the film and the company.
