It was the “End of Time” for David Tennant as his time as the long living Doctor in the BBC series Dr Who came to an end.
The story itself was as expected even though it was two parter and the Time Lords made a welcome return to the universe all be it for a short while.
As far the viewing figures go, the final episode for David Tennant draw an average audience of 10.4 million (34 per cent of the TV audience), although at one point this figure did rise to 10.8 million.
However these figures are slightly down on the Christmas day episode of two years ago when the viewing figures reached a mighty 12.4 million.
Out of interest the highest viewing rating for New Years Day was in fact Eastenders with 11.6 million viewers tuning in.
