The satellite film channel, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will be holding a Sci-Fi weekend that starts on the 13th and ends on the 15th November.
The channel is famous for showing classic movies as the title would suggest, and yet there is some serious science fiction just sits around in archives gathering dust.
This feature weekend will brush the dust off such films as; Soylent Green and The Omega Man, both starring Charlton Heston, Dark City starring Rufus Sewell and Kiefer Sutherland, Yul Brynner in Michael Crichton’s Westworld and Joan Crawford fans in Trog.
A double of classic sci-fi will be shown each evening starting at 9pm.
It is very interesting to see these films, as they have influenced many of the writers and directors of modern day science fiction; this is a chance to see how.
