Are film directors running out of original material, it seems that some could be and in fact instead of remaking another director’s piece of work, there are some directors that are considering remaking their own work?

Take David Cronenberg for instance, he remade the 1958 film The Fly in 1986. This film was great success for 20th Century Fox making the studio a cool $40 million, there was even a sequel made without Cronenbergs help and even an opera.

But now according to the industry insider, The Hollywood Reporter, David Cronenberg is back and he is going to remake The Fly once more.

Unfortunately, there are not many details available at the moment, so there is little idea as to what sort of budget there is going to be and so time will tell.
