There have been many reasons given for the current economic crisis and of course, there have been many blamed for it too, but one aspect that has not been explored turns up in the latest novel from Eric Barnes.

Shimmer follows the life of the CEO of a huge communications company, it has simple straight forward characters and best of all has a touch of science fiction thrown in for good measure.

When everyone is looking around for someone to blame for a the failure if the worlds banks, it is easy to blame individuals, but what if technology was to blame is that at possible or would it be the people behind the technology.

These are the issues and indeed the story follows the Ponzi scheme theory, which is that people tend to believe in what they to believe in and this nearly always ends in disaster for us all.
