When the third and so it would seem final Blade film ended, it appeared that the story had nowhere else to go, which is probably why there was never a forth edition made.

However, the film industry is very resilient and will never let a good thing pass it by. This could be the reasoning behind the Blade Trilogy rumours.

The filmmaker Stephen Norrington has now confirmed that he has been in talks with Stephen Dorff, he played Deacon Frost in Blade, so therefore it is clear that the new Blade films will be a prequel to the first three.

There appears to be a strong chance that this project will go ahead, however linking it to the previous films is the difficult thing.

Nevertheless, prequels are all the rage these days, we know how things turn out in films, and we just need to know how they all got there in the first place.

EDITORS NOTE: Apologies for the previous reporting that mentioned there only being 2 Blade films - now corrected!

Um, not to be pedantic but this article is a bit incorrect

    In the first bit
“When the second and so it would seem final Blade film ended, it appeared to have nowhere else to go, which is probably why there was never a third edition made.”

there was a third Blade movie done, it was called Blade Trinity

The Blade trilogy that Dorff is rumoured to be involved in is a Prequel trilogy so the article should have said “Blade Prequel Trilogy” or “New Blade Trilogy”

    Sorry to seem picky

Um, There was a third Blade movie made, in 2004, Blade Trinity - it had Wesley Snipes, Ryan Reynalds, Jennifer Beals and Danny John Jules in it.

Perhaps the title of the article should have been “New Blade Trilogy rumours”
