I don't think a new tv series would work there has been a new animated series waiting to be picked up for years and that looked interesting but a new live action series would be complicated (using the prime timeline or new timeline?) wouldn't work how many new places could you visit if there was a new series it would have to be radically different and colourful! Enterprise was as colourful as a black and white film

I hope they do a new series but it should go down the new timeline not the old one because whats the point in that the originals are the best and they always seem to mess it up when they try to recreate an original film or series. Plus the new timeline would bring new story lines and a different aspect with the Vulcan's losing there home planet and not being able to interfere with the federation as much. Anyway we will see and what ever they do I will watch it. Its Star Trek.

Viacom Paramount Pictures and CBS Paramount Television both have one thing in common - PARAMOUNT.

The two divisions could get together and jointly develop a new series.

Well Garth, I hope the new series does follow the true Trek time line. For those of us who are familiar with Star Trek since TNG, it will be nice to have a familiar time line that seems to have continues from TNG through to DS9 and Voyager.

I just wish they wouldn't wait the years to make the 3rd movie. Why not get on it now? I'm effing desperate for another Trek series.

If a new series is done, in all likely hood it would not be from the perspective of JJ Trek since that property is soley owned by Viacom Paramount Pictures. The TV rights and the rest of Star Trek are owned by CBS Parmount Televsion thankfully. Wich means in all likely hood the new series will be a continuation of the true Trek time line.

Yay! but no surprise on the 3rd movie, it seems to be the norm these days... sign the actors to a trilogy so you can cash in on the popularity if the first movie is successful.

I hate movie cliffhangers. It was a fail for the Matrix, it will be a fail for Trek.

Series could be good... are the same team (Bad Robot etc) going to be making it?
