It has to happen sooner or later, the game that attracts thousands if not millions of players, World of Warcraft is to be made into a film.
According to Blizzard Entertainment, the man behind the Spider-Man films, Sami Raimi has been recruited to direct this blockbusting film and considering his background this is going to be something to keep an eye on.
Adapting a successful game such as this to a viable film is not always an easy process; there is the anticipation of the players to consider and the wider audience who have never played the game to think about.
However, Sami Raimi successfully turned the comic book hero into a film legend, this is something that all concerned will be hoping can be done with the World of Warcraft film.

It’s interesting that Hollywood is taking such an interest in MMORPGs now, and honestly its about time.
I mean look at the documentary “Second Skin”. It released to critical and popular acclaim last year with write ups in places like WIRED, Variety, Ain’t it Cool News and Newsweek and now they’ve decided to release it on DVD next month. I found that looking into a blending of the virtual and real-life was an engrossing experience that will probably enthrall the WoW movie’s viewers in the near future
