The international publisher HarperCollins has just launched an interesting imprint; Angry Robot will concentrate its efforts in the Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction market.

The new publisher has plans to bring out two to three titles a month; these will be in the form of paperbacks and the growing eBook market.

The first titles will be coming out this month and will include, Slights by Kaaron Warren and Moxyland by Lauren Beukes.

The market for science fiction, fantasy and even horror is expanding once more, hence the new imprint.

However, according to HarperCollins, the market has also changed slightly from dark and grisly to Teenage serial killers: Zombie detectives. The grim reaper. Howling axes. Vampire hordes. Dead mens clones. Murderous gods. Sex-crazed vampires. The Black Hand. Riots. Quests. Discovery. Death.

It just goes to show that despite the increase in games and film, the written word is still up there too.
