When the team behind Battlestar Gallactica get together to produce a science fiction pilot, we can but only wait with anticipation to see the finished article or indeed just a brief glimpse of what to expect.

The basic storyline is, a ship is sent on a ten year voyage to find a planet that maybe habitable, and the ship has a twelve man crew that includes the standard doctor, biologist and various technical personnel.

However, there is a twist; the voyage is being filmed for a TV show “Edge of Never” a sort of “Big Brother” but without the evictions. The action cuts from what actually happens on the ship to what is being broadcast to the viewers.

Finally, ten years is a long time in space, so the crew use virtual reality programmes that take them to different places, times and situations.
